Dungarvan GAA Coaches

Once again, we are delighted to have coaches coming into our school from Dungarvan GAA Club. The children are involved in hurling and football sessions in a fun environment. They play lots of games whilst improving their skills each Tuesday. The highlight is the match at the end of each session! Thanks a million to the coaches for coming in each week. (more…)


Gymnastics

Gymnastics is the PE strand for January and February. All classes get to enjoy gymnastics lessons in the halla. The boys and girls are taught how to travel around the room in interesting ways using all the space available to them. Apparatus such as mats are pulled out to allow them to explore pencil rolls, forward rolls and backwards rolls to name but a few. Everyone is eager to give it a go and have fun! (more…)


Special Visitor To St. Marys

There was huge excitement around the school for the arrival of Santa. The sound of the bell ringing outside each classroom upped the excitement as the children knew Santa was getting closer. Christmas songs were sung and promises made to go to bed early on Christmas Eve. Thank you Santa for taking time out of your busy schedule to come and see us. (more…)


Christmas Colouring Competition

Sixth class ran a Christmas colouring competition for each of the classes. The standard was very high and the girls had difficult decisions to make in choosing class winners. The children were presented with their prizes on the last day of term. Well done to everyone involved. (more…)


Junior Infants Out And About

First Class Tables Blitz

Ava Wins Gold

Huge congratulations to Ava Lannon who boxes out of Dungarvan Boxing Club. Last weekend she was crowned All-Ireland Girl 2 75kg champion. She has had a very successful few months, winning a county title and a Munster title and has now added an Irish title to her collection. It’s brilliant to see hard work and dedication paying off. Festive Activities

Ms. Carroll-Lawler’s class looked to be having great fun getting into the festive spirit this week. They enjoyed wearing their Christmas clothes to school and decorating their Christmas tree. They loved playing with the kenetic sand and baking Christmas cookies.  (more…)


Cathy’s Retirement

Last Friday, Cathy’s retirement as a wonderful cleaner was marked with a small presentation for her eighteen years of service. Ann Marie Rossiter, chairperson of the BOM and members of the social committee presented her with tokens of our appreciation. We wish Cathy well, and know that she will be missed. (more…)


Gingerbread House Winner

Congratulations to Sophia Shanahan from fourth class who correctly guessed, that nineteen lunch bags had been reused to help make the beautiful gingerbread house display. Sophia won her very own gingerbread house to decorate. Thank you to Ms. Hickey for the fab display and for organising the competition.
