World Bee Day 2022

Updated: 20th May 2022

Today is World Bee Day which aims to raise awareness of bees and beekeeping and informs us of the importance of their role in our ecosystem. We were very lucky recently to have Cormac Lynch, a young beekeeper, pay us a visit.

He enthralled us with his expertise on bees and the various aspects associated with beekeeping. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the process involved in the production of honey and the importance of encouraging bees in our environments.

Massive thanks to Cormac for taking the time out of school to visit us and for giving us such an informative talk. We certainly learned a lot!

Ms. Hickey and her Green Schools Committee have recently developed a wild garden area, where we will hopefully see many species of bees in the near future.
