Seachtain na Gaeilge 2021

Updated: 21st Mar 2021

We had a wonderful week marking Seachtain na Gaeilge this year. Some of our annual activities were curtailed by the current restrictions, but that did not dampen the enthusiasm of the students.

On Tuesday we had our Lá Glas, where there was a sea of beautiful green, white and orange outfits worn by students and staff. The junior infants also took part in a leprechaun treasure hunt in our sensory garden, which the enjoyed immensely. On Thursday, the junior classes were paired with a senior class to take part in a virtual performance. They each performed rhymes and songs as gaeilge. On Friday, Mrs. O’ Regan’s sixth class gave some brilliant performances of the Dreoilín dance outdoors in the playgrounds. The other classes joined in which added to the excitement. Throughout the week, a colouring competition took place in each classroom. The winners were presented with their prizes on Friday. Comhghairdeachas! All in all, it was a different SnaG, but was enjoyed by everyone. Go raibh maith agat do Ms. Wall for organising this fun week. Looking forward to next year already!
