Green Flag 2019

Updated: 4th Jun 2019

Article written by pupils, Chloe and Jessica, of the Green School Committee

On the 22nd of May, 2019, we travelled to Kilkenny with Mrs. Fitzgerald and Miss Foley to collect our latest Green Flag, which we were awarded for ‘Global Citizenship-Energy’.

We got our picture taken first with the flag and we had more pictures taken after that. There was approximately 62 schools there on the day and there were lots of activities there to keep us entertained. We ate our lunch and then the ceremony got underway. There were lots of people talking. We were finally called up to be presented with our flag. It was an honour to receive it on behalf of the school. We also received a certificate. The children and teachers were presented with little goodies. We had a lovely meal of chicken and chips and for dessert we had profiteroles-DELICIOUS! We want to thank the teachers, principal, all the speakers and organisers and of course, the bus driver. We had a great day!
