We are currently working towards our Global Citizenship-Litter and Waste flag. As part of this
endeavour we had a very informative visit recently from Robin Barry, Department of the Environment. He visited classes from Junior Infants to Fourth Class. He spoke about the importance of all insects to our eco-system and the urgent need to provide more natural habitat from those insects. He had various species of insects, mostly bees and butterflies. The collection was started decades ago and included species that are now extinct. The children thoroughly enjoyed this informative workshop.
We also had a visit from Ella Ryan to chat to the Green School’s Committee about the our progress so far this year. She was delighted with all the initiatives in place which, will hopefully, help in us being awarded our next flag in the coming months.
