It was a busy week for 2nd Class who visited the local library, where author Olivia Hope read her book, ‘Be Wild, Little One’ to the girls. Afterwards the students completed beautiful butterfly art.
They also enjoyed planting a native hazel sapling that we received from the Tree Council of Ireland.
It’s been a busy week in First Class. They completed a Maths Trail around the school and played Maths Games with 4th Class. They made yummy, autumnal biscuits after learning all about the changes we see in autumn. (more…)
Ms. Harty’s class was a hive of activity this week for Maths Week. The boys and girls enjoyed a maths trail around the school. They enjoyed collaborating with the senior classes for Maths Eyes and Maths Games. Pattern work took place with manipulatives and ipads. What a great, fun week! (more…)
Senior Infants have been so excited to learn all about space. They enjoyed learning about the solar system, listening to stories about space and creating wonderful art pieces.
Ms. McGrath’s 5th/6th Class and Ms. Kiely’s 6th Class went on a trip to Waterford for Maths Week. First they went for a stroll on the Greenway and then some went on to visit the The Irish Museum of Time in the city and the others went to SETU for the Maths and Magic Show. A very enjoyable day out.

5th and 6th Class used their Maths Eyes to take some pictures around the school. They then invited the Junior Infant classes to look at their pictures and asked them questions based on what they saw. A very enjoyable collaboration between the junior and senior classes. (more…)
