Ms. O’ Connor’s senior infants had fun exploring the wonderful story of The Gruffalo. They loved finding the rhyming words and imagining their own trail through the forest. Ms. Smith’s Junior infants have been busy learning about Antarctica during Aistear time this week. They loved messy play and creating beautiful art pieces using their colouring, painting and cutting skills. The boys and girls got to listen to some lovely stories and learned about igloos and penguins. They even played with some Polar animals. What a lovely theme! (more…)

Once again, we are delighted to have coaches coming into our school from Dungarvan GAA Club. The children are involved in hurling and football sessions in a fun environment. They play lots of games whilst improving their skills each Tuesday. The highlight is the match at the end of each session! Thanks a million to the coaches for coming in each week. (more…)

Gymnastics is the PE strand for January and February. All classes get to enjoy gymnastics lessons in the halla. The boys and girls are taught how to travel around the room in interesting ways using all the space available to them. Apparatus such as mats are pulled out to allow them to explore pencil rolls, forward rolls and backwards rolls to name but a few. Everyone is eager to give it a go and have fun! (more…)

There was huge excitement around the school for the arrival of Santa. The sound of the bell ringing outside each classroom upped the excitement as the children knew Santa was getting closer. Christmas songs were sung and promises made to go to bed early on Christmas Eve. Thank you Santa for taking time out of your busy schedule to come and see us. (more…)

Sixth class ran a Christmas colouring competition for each of the classes. The standard was very high and the girls had difficult decisions to make in choosing class winners. The children were presented with their prizes on the last day of term. Well done to everyone involved. (more…)

Mrs. Ryan’s class decided to stretch their legs and went out and about around town. They had fun posting cards to Santa and got to admire the beautiful Christmas decorations around the town. What a lovely morning! (more…)
