Ava Wins Gold

Huge congratulations to Ava Lannon who boxes out of Dungarvan Boxing Club. Last weekend she was crowned All-Ireland Girl 2 75kg champion. She has had a very successful few months, winning a county title and a Munster title and has now added an Irish title to her collection. It’s brilliant to see hard work and dedication paying off. Festive Activities

Ms. Carroll-Lawler’s class looked to be having great fun getting into the festive spirit this week. They enjoyed wearing their Christmas clothes to school and decorating their Christmas tree. They loved playing with the kenetic sand and baking Christmas cookies.  (more…)

Cathy’s Retirement

Last Friday, Cathy’s retirement as a wonderful cleaner was marked with a small presentation for her eighteen years of service. Ann Marie Rossiter, chairperson of the BOM and members of the social committee presented her with tokens of our appreciation. We wish Cathy well, and know that she will be missed. (more…)

Gingerbread House Winner

Congratulations to Sophia Shanahan from fourth class who correctly guessed, that nineteen lunch bags had been reused to help make the beautiful gingerbread house display. Sophia won her very own gingerbread house to decorate. Thank you to Ms. Hickey for the fab display and for organising the competition.

Wear Red To School

Last Friday was wear red to school day. Staff and pupils wore red to school to support the Wlr/Lions Club Christmas hamper appeal. We were delighted to hand over €520 to this very worthy cause. Thank you to everybody who donated so generously.

Christmas Stories

Mr. Curran’s class were thrilled to get to work on the ipads to create their very own Christmas stories. They worked with Ms. Healy during Literacy Lift Off time, to become author and illustrator of their first story. The stories were printed out and the children got to read them to their friends. Christmas Maths

Mrs. O’ Regan’s sixth class brought their maths lesson to the outdoor classroom. Christmas clues were hung up around the area and the girls had to work together to figure out the answers. Great way to spend some time. (more…)

Carol Singing At Dunabbey

Sixth class were delighted to venture outside of the school grounds for carol singing. The girls got to sing outdoors for the residents of Dunabbey House nursing home. They sang beautifully and the residents were happy to get into the festive spirit. Well done girls. (more…)

Final Festive Friday

Our final festive Friday was wear red to school day. Staff and children wore red to school and contributed to the Wlr fm/ Lions Club Christmas hamper appeal. Once again Christmas music rang out in the playgrounds. Classes were treated to fun activities on the day too. Some classes had hot chocolate, others recorded their Christmas songs for parents whilst others had fun playing board games. What an enjoyable festive Friday! (more…)
