Picker Pals

Ms. Solich’s class are taking part in the Picker Pals programme. The aim of this is to raise awareness of litter, the sources and the reasons for it. The programme provides motivation and the tools for children and teachers to create a better environment. The boys and girls enjoyed donning their bibs and gloves on a litter pick around the school. Fourth Class:Cycle Training

Fourth class began their cycle training from Cycle Right Ireland. What a beautiful day to choose to be outdoors for their first cycling lesson. The girls were keen to get started and their coaches were impressed by the girls who took instruction well. Onwards and upwards for the next five weeks.  (more…)


Digraph Display

As a reward for all their hard work over the past few weeks, Ms. Healy enlisted her senior infants to help create a digraph display. Repurposing cardboard boxes, they brightened them up with coloured paper. Then, they collected little items from around the school to match the digraph. Next, a photograph of each of the children saying the sound and accompanying it with the action was taken to add to the display. To say that they were chuffed to bits with their finished product is an understatement! What a fabulous idea.  (more…)


World Book Day From Around The School

Ms. Carroll Lawler’s class snuggled up under their blankies to listen to some of their favourite stories. Ms. Quinn’s class enjoyed discussing their favourite book on World Book Day. Sixth class took time out to read some new titles. Groups from first class, drew pictures of themselves and their favourite person who reads to them.

World Book Day In Senior Infants

Both senior infant classes celebrated World Book Day by bringing in their favourite book from home. They took a trip over to the assembly area and enjoyed reading from the vast selection of books on offer there. Great chats and giggles were heard from behind the storybooks! (more…)


World Book Day In First Class

World Book Day In Junior Infants

To celebrate World Book Day, junior infants brought in their favourite books from home. They spoke to the class about their reasons for choosing the book. The boys and girls also visited the assembly area, where Mrs. Ryan and Ms. Cleary read their favourite story to their class. The children then voted on how many stars to award to each book. The teachers must have great taste, as both books scored five stars! (more…)


Pancake Relay Races

Big thanks go to Mrs. Barry for organising the pancake relay races. Each class was split into teams, which then had to compete against each other in a relay race. Pancake Tuesday In Sixth Class

Both of our sixth classes enjoyed the Pancake Tuesday activities laid on by Mrs. O’ Regan and Ms. Kiely. They cooked up a storm in the lunchroom, by making pancakes from scratch and had fun trying to flip them!! They took part in solving pancake problems in the outdoor classroom and running the pancake relays in the yard. There was something on offer to suit everybody.  (more…)
